National Armistice Day Event
In a very busy and poignant time for the NMA, Cloud One were once again brought in the cover the proceedings on Armistice Day. This was a very high profile event, as many senior military officials, not least HRH Prince Harry, were in attendance among around 8 thousand members of the public and invited guests. With security a top priority, we were asked to supply two self-sufficient systems which could be interlinked at will. Up at the Armed Forces Memorial, we erected staging for both the contributors and speakers at the event, and also the legions of press and camera operators.
A modest PA system was in place to cover the service for the 200 VIPs at the AFM, as well as our live cameras which were feeding the sound and video back to the newly completed heroes square over 300m away on the other side of the site. This is where the public were able to be a part of the service, by watching on a 16m LED screen, fed by a much larger sound system consisting of L’acoustics ARCS II.
In order to achieve this system, aCAT 6 video and audio distribution system was conceived and installed all around the NMA’s vast site to ensure all of the visitors could see and hear everything perfectly. Prince Harry was kind enough to stick around to talk with children and servicemen and women alike, as the RAF flew a squirrel helicopter over the site in an epic flypast, ending another landmark Armistice Day at the NMA
